JULY NEWS FROM VANTAGE POINTE
BOARDWALK
Most residents already know that we will
begin watering twice a week beginning the week of July 12th. Odd number
houses on Wednesday
and Saturday and even number houses on
Thursday and Sunday.
Beginning this week, Judy & Jim Davis
have volunteered to do the maintenance on the two new islands out at
Thunderbird Road and the two islands near the four way stop at Vantage Trace
and Vantage Circle, so take a look as you go by and many thanks to the hard
working team of Jim & Judy Davis.
In addition, a couple of reminders are
in order. Keep in mind that our Recreation Facilities ( Clubhouse, Pool and
Shuffleboard Courts) are smoke free facilities.
Many of the residents have complained
about the loud trucks in the neighborhood as they rumble up and down the
streets (especialily early mornings). Perhaps a little less foot on the
pedal would help.
Finally, with less trafifc in the
community, it seems the speed has increased, however the speed limit still
remains at 25 mph, let's try to observe it. Thank you.

AROUND THE POINTE
It has come to our attention that there
have been cats roaming the area both at night and during the day. Please
note that the rules state that all animals, dogs or cats must be leached
when outdoors and that the owner is responsible to pick up after their
animal. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Due to traveling to various graduations,
I did not make a June Newsletter. We did however enjoy a terrific Father's
Day Brunch on Saturday, June 19th. What a great job by a committee of 5
super gals pictured below: It was enjoyed by all attending. Pictures are
available for viewing on the web site (www.vantagepointfl.com)
YESTERDAY WE CELEBRATED THE 234TH
ANNIVERSARY OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE ON JULY 4TH, 1776, DECLARING
INDEPENDENCE FROM THE KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN. HERE IN VANTAGE POINT
ANOTHER HARD WORKING COMMITTEE SERVED UP A GREAT JULY 4TH LUNCHEON FOR
APPROXIMATELY 55 FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS. THE COMMITTEE IS SHOWN BELOW: THE
LUNCHEON PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING ON THE WEB SITE (www.vantagepointfl.com)
A couple of 4th of July tidbits for your
reading pleasure - In a remarkable series of coincidences, both John Adams
and Thomas Jefferson, two founding fathers of the United States and the only
two men who signed the Declaration of Independence to become president, died
on the same day: July 4, 1826, which was the United States' 50th
anniversary.
Did you know that in 2009 there were
2,600,000 flags sold in the United States that were imported from China and
336,000 flags bought from USA companies.
AROUND TOWN
The construction of the new Aldi's Food
Market is on schedule for a November opening.
The new ABC store has
finally gotten underway on US27 directly in front of Home Depot. The word
is that once the new store is completed, they will close the one on the
south end of town. Can't tell much from the picture but thought I would
include it.
We now have a new Eye
Express store on the corner of the Parkway and US 27. The building was last
occupied by Exit Reality. Eye Express completely renovated the building
inside and out.
Construction also continues on the new
Heartland Workforce building on the South end of town. Apparently Heartland
will occupy half of the building and the other half will be up for lease.
Our summer rains have finally arrived
with very heavy rains the past 3 days. Of course the temps are still in the
mid 90's every afternoon. You can almost see the grass grow, along with the
shrubs and weeds.
FINAL TIDBITS
During the summer, if anyone has any
changes or additions for the new directory, PLEASE let Gayle Magisano know
at ayla177@yahoo.com.
Coffee hour is still on Monday
mornings from 8:30 until 9:30.
Card Bingo has been
suspended for the summer
Pool volleyball is
played on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 till 4:00 when we have enough
bodies to play. It seems that everybody has gone north.
