WELCOME TO

VANTAGE POINTE
SEBRING, FL

Located in the Heart of Florida

A DEED RESTRICTED  COMMUNITY of  200 HOMES

RESIDENTS MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER

THIS IS NEITHER A RESORT NOR A COUNTRY CLUB!!!!

Can you spot your house?????
Satellite Photo Taken Jan 11,2011

With these crazy weather patterns, we might as well combine the two!!!

Something to think about this summer...

For several years now, the subject of adding a few more colors to our VP houses keeps coming up... At the next January '15 HOA meeting the residents will be asked to decide whether or not the Community wants to add a few more colors... If yes, then the residents will be asked to submit their preferences of colors during the following month prior to the February meeting... Earth colors and subdued colors such as NO BRIGHT yellows, pinks, blues, etc and NO GAUDY colors such as purple, green, etc...

I suggest as you ride around you notice which color houses are appealing to you...

Cranky Old Man

What do you see nurses? . . . What do you see?
What are you thinking . . . when you're looking at me?
A cranky old man, . . . not very wise,
Uncertain of habit . . . with faraway eyes?
Who dribbles his food . . . and makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice . . . 'I do wish you'd try!'
Who seems not to notice . . . the things that you do.
And forever is losing . . . A sock or shoe?
Who, resisting or not . . . lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding . . . The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking? . . . Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse . . . you're not looking at me.
I'll tell you who I am . . . As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, . . . as I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of Ten . . . with a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters . . . who love one another
A young boy of Sixteen . . . with wings on his feet
Dreaming that soon now . . . a lover he'll meet.
A groom soon at Twenty . . . my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows . . . that I promised to keep.
At Twenty-Five, now . . . I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide . . . And a secure happy home.
A man of Thirty . . . . My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other . . . With ties that should last.
At Forty, my young sons . . . have grown and are gone,
But my woman is beside me . . . to see I don't mourn.
At Fifty, once more, . . .Babies play 'round my knee,
Again, we know children . . . My loved one and me.
Dark days are upon me . . . My wife is now dead.
I look at the future . . . I shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing . . . young of their own.
And I think of the years . . . And the love that I've known.
I'm now an old man . . . and nature is cruel.
It's jest to make old age . . . look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles . . . grace and vigour, depart.
There is now a stone . . . where I once had a heart.
But inside this old carcass . . . A young man still dwells,
And now and again . . . my battered heart swells
I remember the joys . . . I remember the pain.
And I'm loving and living . . . life over again.
I think of the years, all too few . . . gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact . . . that nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people . . . open and see.
Not a cranky old man .
Look closer . . . see . . . ME!!

VOLUNTEERISM
This is what makes Vantage Pointe the place that it is with low HOA Dues and no increase since 2004... Check the prices at the Grocery Store if you donít think that is an accomplishment... There are a lot of new residents here that wonder why some of the older residents are not more involved... I would like to point out that many of our older residents were completely involved in this community for over 20 years... Now that they are more aged ( a good a term as any ), it is time for the younger residents to take their turn at bat...

Having said this, it was decided at the March HOA meeting by the membership, that rather then spend $2,600/yr ( quoted price ) for janitorial service to clean our clubhouse restrooms, it would be cleaned by our residents on a volunteer basis... Now donít get all excited over nothing... The plan is simply if you happen to be in a restroom and notice something that needs correcting, such as more soap in the dispenser, paper towels need replacing, maybe a counter needs wiping down or some water needs to be mopped up, GO AHEAD AND DO IT... Itís certainly not that big a deal... In addition to this, a signup sheet has been posted for Volunteers to to sign up for a week at a time to be responsible for the cleanliness of the restrooms... Seasonal people are requested to sign up obviously for a week while they are here and the year round people during the summer... If this doesnít work out for whatever reason, the Board will then again look into hiring an outside janitorial service... Itís up you Folks, itís your clubhouse, for your use and upkeep and your responsibility to keep our dues at a low rate...

to 8:00 pm. The Art League will also host the Highlands County Student Art Show in its opening

OUR MOTLEY CREW ...

Our Motley Crew consists of our VP volunteers that step forward whenever there is some work to be done here in VP... It isn't always the same people, but there is a willing number that helps keep our costs down and is one of the main reasons that there has not been a dues increase since 2004...

Our Motley Crew turned out once again for the benefit of our community to clean the surrounding pool deck area...

OUR VP COMMUNITY THANKS ALL OF YOU FOR DONATING YOUR TIME AND EFFORT!!!
