clubhouse expansion

I am excited to announce that the long awaited and heavily persuaded permit

from Southwest Water Management has finally been received and forwarded

to the Highlands County Engineer's office for final approval to begin the main

project. We are told that final approval would take 4 or 5 days. Following

that, contractor permits might also take a week or so. Given all this, it

appears that construction could begin the week of May 21st or hopefully

sooner than later. It's been a tough grind, but I think we can see light at the end of the tunnel.

sINCE MANY OF YOU WILL BE HEADED NORTH AND WILL MISS ALL OF THE FUN OF THE RENOVATION, DON DEWEY AND I WILL BE TAKING PICTURES AS IT PROGRESSES AND WE WILL BE POSTING THEM ON THIS SITE AND IN DON'S MONTHLY VP NEWSLETTER.... STAY TUNED.....JER

The Treasurer’s name was Jim DeWalt. He ran and won the job in December, 1996 when I became President
and we reorganized as an Association. That was when the original builder took off and left us with $350.00 in the bank.
In June, 1998 the previous mortgager accepted our offer of $100,000.00 to purchase the clubhouse. At the time, we had
accumulated $15,000.00 in an escrow account and needed $85,000.00 more to pay it off. On July 10,1998 we issued
18 notes for $5,000.00 each payable over 8 years and closed the deal on July 15, 1998. On July 6, 2006 we were debt free.
